Note: These kits have a special preservative. The 24hr Loomis Urinalysis kit will not work as a substitute.

The Iodine Urinalysis test kit should be purchased when desiring to test patients for the Iodine Spot test or the Iodine Load test.

The SPOT test is the first urine void of the morning. From this first void, the level of iodine is measured in the urine, to establish a baseline.

The Iodine Load test measures the whole body’s sufficiency for iodine. 50mg of Iodine/Iodide supplement (Iodoral®) is provided with the kit and is ingested and a 24 hour collection is started at the next void. The loading excretion results will show how many milligrams of Iodide are excreted; thus arriving at an iodine whole body sufficiency level.

The Iodine Load/Spot Kit includes all collection, instructions, materials and the means to ship the specimen.  A results report is provided to the ordering practitioner within 10-15 business days from the time the test was received at the laboratory.

*These kits do not include: laboratory test, 3000 mL collection container,  return shipping or collection hat.
